The cord of this iron is insulated with asbestos and the fabric surrounding it allows fibres to be released, especially as it ages.

Older household toasters often contain asbestos. Asbestos wiring was often used in older toasters and asbestos was also part of paper boards. This toaster has large paper boards containing over 45% chrysotile (white) asbestos fibres.
